POLICY BRIEF
NEW!
Twenty policy briefs will be produced for the different end-use sectors aiming at highlighting key results stemming from the project.
A first policy brief presenting energy efficiency trends in industry has been produced in September 2016. It explains why industrial energy consumption has remained roughly stable at EU level between 2000 and 2007 and has decreased rapidly since then, as well as why energy efficiency progress has slowed down significantly since 2007.

The central government has an important role as energy legislator but also as an energy consuming sector, particularly through its' building stock. Local administrations also occupy large building stocks and can facilitate energy efficiency improvements of other operators and citizens in their territory. This second brief, published in November, reviews the main role, actions and barriers that public sector is facing to improve energy efficiency.
